I think this is an amazing album so I can't pick a favourite track as they're all so good!
I usually end up playing the album from start to finish!

Lady Angel 02:40
A spirit glided past my face, and the hair on my body stood on end. It stopped, but I could not tell what it was. A form stood before my eyes, and I heard a hushed voice: "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love."
2.
But is it true? Can I rely on you? With the mic in my hand And the light in my eye I would say anything To get on their side And here in the lighthouse My feet on the stage They tell me son You're wise for your age But that's all gone away (Oh you handsome man, you) Is this love perfect Was it built for me? (Is it supposed to be Is it supposed to be But anyhow you get the idea) And if love isn't perfect And I'm not perfect And if life is changing Faster than I can breathe Then what does that mean? What can I be? Where does love come from If you don't give it to me If you find any, then you bring it to us, will you? But its there And its delicious, really delicious Because you make it yourself You'll find that the difference is worth the little extra effort

(only you can do it) And what am I supposed to say And we- We disagree Silence is complacency And to speak up is disruption I don't want to disrupt this family And the way things are It is so hard for me To decide between what I feel is right And the love we are supposed to feel Passed around through screens Hell is real What I've seen from you From what I've seen, who are you? What I've seen from you From what I've seen, is it true? I've lived this way for so long To doubt what I've been told I feel it in my chest An aching pull to heaven In the name of paranoia The revelation of truth We are incompatible And I'm finished running I am home What I've seen from you From what I've seen, is it true? What I've seen from you From what I've seen, who are you? What I've seen from you From what I've seen, is it true? What I've seen from you What I've seen from you From what I've seen, who are you?

When this body breaks As a solemn guise Turn your back to the light And try to realize I find it funny I find it harsh The way you look at me The way I fall apart We think of purpose To give ourselves routine As if theres honesty or truth Inside the world we see You want to love me Lead me to God I just want to feel Like I belong Abnormal sex, crime, and violence As the dawn approaches I let my fingers curl I think of pointless endings And I think of phantom girls There's so little that we All seem to know About our weary selves And of this place we grow The endless chaos That changes day to day I rest on solid ground And feel it slip away And if this body breaks And I've got to let you go Think of me fondly And of this world we know
5.
Of all the ways that you love me now And I, so cold and afraid of time It sways and bends us, misdirects us Oh, I am here for you Oh, under your eye My back to the sky There's no reasons left To hide So here I am dreaming of July And thinking back to when I was young A boy, not knowing, yet still growing And I know nothings changed And, inside your storm My body is worn Oh, I was supposed To be warm Of all the ways that you love me now And I, so cold and afraid of dying You are my mender, touch so tender Oh, I am here for you
6.
Do you know where he goes at night? I am alone sometimes In the quiet lies What happened to that child? Where did you go? I just wanna be clear Did you wanna be here? Did you wanna see me? Did you wanna leave me? Oh, I don't wanna be here I don't wanna be here I don't wanna be here I don't wanna be here In the quiet night I only want more time Look at all these kids in the sea What have you done to me? Where did you go? I just wanna be clear Did you wanna be here? Did you wanna see me? Did you wanna leave me? I don't wanna be here I don't wanna be here I don't wanna be here I don't wanna be here What have you done to me? Sometimes I think of you Do you think of me? We are all doomed to grow Shed this innocent world behind us And embrace the brutal machine Do you see how it burns? I just wanna be clear Did you wanna be here? You don't wanna see me You don't wanna leave me I don't wanna be here I don't wanna be here I don't wanna be here I don't wanna be alone
7.
I give all my children so much And at the end of the day You take all my light and my love I feel your innocence bleed away And its awful to say I feel you pull away In the final days I feel you pull away Perhaps I'm too distant To those of your kind The weight of the world drags your eyelids Until you're completely blind Say it one more time In the quiet of night You only want more time In the quiet of night You only want more time In the quiet of night You only want more time Say it one more time I can never see you But I would love to see you sometime Who are you, that speaks to me in the tender night? Where did you come from? And do you truly love me, the way the books describe? I am beyond hope Beyond love in this boundless world Can you save us all? Or only one? Is it me? In the quiet of night You only want more time In the quiet of night You only want more time In the quiet of night You only want more time Say it one more time
8.
And in these years, there is the time of man The time to fulfill his destiny The time of man Sticks, rocks, and bones Bend your chin towards the light As if you've never known The mountain's crumbled The fire died 2016 was the last time that I even tried The pastor's quiet And his daughter's truly kind And if he had to He would leave all of this world behind And I don't blame him Because I'm searching too One day I'll find something More than even me and you The picture you are about to see deals with the problem of self destruction This great human affliction The time of man Approaches It's already here The time of man Approaches Between the lines now, between the lines Into the hands of fear Misinformation The time of man is here Into the hands of fear You wanna break me You'll have to reach me here You want to talk about destiny? Well I think it's clear I think it's very clear You want to talk about destiny? You've got to change You've got to make me fear I would sing of heartache But my heart doesn't ache no more I would sing of love But my heart doesn't love no more And I would sing of god But god isn't here no more And I would sing of songs But I can't hear the words no more Why don't you surrender I beg you, surrender So please, be tender And darling, surrender And love me as I love you

No Return 04:19
There's nothing I could tell you That would bridge these two worlds There's so many moments we missed It makes me wonder There's no going back to what we had The innocence that we remember And every passing joke I'm sorry I might not be what you wanted I don't see the things you want me to see Love the way you want me to love But I love you And I hope that's good enough With Jesus Christ on some vapid ladder Splayed out, so his feet don't touch the floor Dollars pouring from his side I am a bystander of chaos I look into the open mouth of the machine and say Brutalize me For who will believe me when i am dead? And who will trust me while i am alive? Tell me, what can i do to save a single life? You say nothing You have always said nothing And I know every melting point means no return So i sit here faithless and numb And in a sea of crying voices In the eyes of god I am nothing So who will save us now?

about

In The Eyes of God is a concept album that details my relationship with god and religion, being raised Pentecostal Christian and falling away from the faith. While my first album was about self-reflection and looking inward, this record is about looking out into the world around me. The melancholy of feeling disconnected from your family, disconnected from the god you were raised under, and disconnected from the world around you at large. This was written in quarantine in 2020, and was influenced by the social and political landscape at the time.
I approach these topics by sampling old 1950's gospel songs, creating soundscapes that reflect the lost life behind me. I distort these samples and collage them together along with original instrumentation and field recordings, distorting them and performing spoken word poetry alongside of this. The result is a textured, dark, and beautiful album, detailing a lost faith.
